Peloton Program

The foundation for safe cycling begins here in the Peloton!  Athletes will benefit from our creative, structured, progressive and unique lesson plans.  The Peloton program offers cycling education for young athletes who wish to apply their skills in competition and those who enjoy riding for recreation.  Consider the Peloton your on-going pathway to higher levels of cycling.

The Peloton is offered year-round with the choice of quarterly or annual enrollment.
  • Age: 8-13
  • Location:  VSC
  • Must complete the Start Line Course before enrolling in the Peloton
  • Athletes are expected to attend all classes for which they are enrolled
  • FREE use of track bicycle during practice and competition

What to Wear and Bring to Class

  • Bring a bottle of water
  • Bring your own helmet.  If you do not own a helmet, you are welcome to use a CCF helmet during class.
  • Shorts:  Although cycling shorts are not required, wearing them will result in a more comfortable ride for the athlete.  This is the first item we recommend that you purchase.  We suggest that your athlete begin riding the Peloton with regular shorts and t-shirt.  Then, after a few weeks, consider investing in a pair of cycling shorts.  Ask your CCF coach for a list of our preferred shops to make your purchase.  We also have CCF ID shorts and jersey's available.
  • Top:  Wearing a t-shirt is fine, it's not necessary to have a cycling jersey.  The jersey is an item that can be purchased at any time, there is no rush.  Sometimes we have pre-worn jersey's available.  Ask your CCF coach if interested.
  • Cycling Shoes: Cycling specific shoes are recommended when athletes begin riding the black line and on the track surface. Ask your CCF coach for a list of our preferred shops to make your purchase.
