Peloton Program

Peloton:  For athletes wanting to learn and improve cycling skills.  Racing is not required but is an option.
Pre-requisite:  Start Line course
The Peloton is for athletes that have completed the Start Line introductory course and wish to continue riding with CCF.  The Peloton is an ongoing program offered year-round.  During our progressive lesson plans athletes learn important cycling fundamentals as well as more advanced competitive skills.  The skills learned during these early stages of development will remain with the athlete forever.  For the recreational fitness rider, these skills translate to safer riding in the neighborhood.  For the racer, these skills set the stage for achieveing competitive oriented goals.  CCF philosophy - more at bottom of page

What to Wear and Bring

  • Bring your own helmet.  [ no shared helmets post-covid ]
  • Bring your own water bottle.
  • Shorts:  Cycling-specific shorts are not required however wearing them results in a more safe & comfortable ride.  At the latest, we recommend cycling shorts when the athlete is riding the black line.
  • Top:  Athletes may wear a t-shirt or jersey.
  • Cycling Shoes: Cycling-specific shoes are recommended when the athlete is riding the black line or shortly beforehand.
  • CCF cycling uniforms: Sometimes we have new and preworn jersey's & shorts. Ask your coach about current availability.
CCF Philosophy:  At CCF we believe in challenging young athletes; while at the same time allowing them to progress at their own pace.  Our primary objective is helping your athlete build a solid foundation of skills at every stage. This takes time and since especially on the track every young athlete processes the experience differently there is no pre-determined rate of progression.  Coaches are constantly evaluating the athletes during pratices and determining for each individual what should be the "next best step".
